Coping with Bullying
By Mary M. AlwardLesson 4: Bullying: How to Cope
If I'm Frightened and Scared?
If you are afraid to tell anyone, get a friend or sibling to go with you. It's always good to choose someone who has witnessed the bullying. Make it clear you are afraid and VERY UPSET.
NEVER!!!
1. Never keep bullying a secret.
2. Never take matters into your own hands.
3. Never walk alone if you are the victim of bullying.
4. Never take expensive things to school that the bully might try to take from you.
ALWAYS!!!
1. Always tell someone about the bullying.
2. Always avoid being alone.
3. Always make eye contact with the bully.
4. Always act confident.
5. If bullying occurs on a school bus, ALWAYS sit near the bus driver.
6. ALWAYS TELL AN ADULT.
7. Always label your belongings so you can prove they are yours. This should be done with permanent marker so the bully can't remove it.
