Elrond
Elrond is Arwen’s father and lives in the elf kingdom Rivendell. He led the armies against Sauron in the battle at the end of the Second Age. Elrond’s parents were half-elven, and, like his daughter Arwen, he was given the choice of whether to be mortal or immortal. He remained in Middle-earth as an immortal and at the time of LOTR had been in Middle-earth for over six thousand years.
Arwen
Elrond’s daughter, Arwen is also half-elven and has chosen to stay in Middle-earth and renounce her immortality so that she can be with Aragorn. The pair must wait until Aragorn becomes king.
Galadriel and Celeborn
Galadriel was born in Valinor and went to Middle-earth at the beginning of the First Age. She is one of the strongest elves in Middle-earth and later resettled Lothlórien with Celeborn. Galadriel of known as the Lady of the Wood and is famous for captivating all who meet her. She possesses the Mirror of Galadriel, which lets people see events which have happened and may ‘come to pass’, and she gives Frodo the Phial of Galadriel, which gives light when all else is dark.
Celeborn, Lord of Lothlórien, did not follow Galadriel to the west when she left Middle-earth, but went to Rivendell and lived for some time there.
