Today, Mark is an independent landscape consultant and designer living in his hometown of Ft. Worth, Texas. He specializes in xeriscapic design using native and well-adapted plants, antique roses, and environment-friendly installation.

Mark is a Past President and an executive board member of the Ft. Worth Rose Society, as well as an American Rose Society Consulting Rosarian and ARS Cyber-CR.

He is also a member of the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association (formerly the Texas Association of Landscape Contractors) and the Native Plant Society of Texas. He maintains memberships in the Ft. Worth Botanical Society, Dallas Historical Rose Society, Johnson Wildflower Research Center, the Bio-Integral Resource Center, the Audubon Society, and the Purple Martin Conservation Association.

He shares his gardening expertise through public speaking and numerous written articles and columns.
