Les AbramsSuite101 Member I have been interested in the nature of Neuropathies (both Peripheral and Central Nervous Systems) Since 1998. I began writing for the PNS Neuropathies topic here on Suite101 at that time. However, I became very ill in late 1999 and had a series of myocardial infarctions that lasted into the year 2000. I was not able to continue writing my articles for Suite101, so I essentially dropped out. I have spent the last four years recovering, but having a 2-artery bypass for diversion in 2002. In 2003, I was diagnosed as being a type II diabetic. So now I have some good knowledge in the processing of glucose, how to reduce your blood sugar without medication - within 30 minutes, and the nature of the Tricarboxylic Acid Cycle (also known as the Krebs Cycle or simply, the TCA cycle). I have continued my study of neuropathies in general and Diabetic Neuropathy in particular, since I have now adopted this neuropathy for my own amusement. I have been successfull in preventing the spread of this beyond the toes of my feet. So, I think that I still have much to contribute here and would like to resume my former position, along with the opportunity to write on the treatment of diabetes along with some good insight which I have gained by doing "my own thing" with diabetes. Additionally, I have something to contribute in the way of self help with respect to dealing with coronary problems, especially the case where the patient has a low ejection fraction. So for now, these are my interests and passions. Many who have these various conditions suffer needlessly, because the majority of medical personnel who treat these diseases (especially Neuropathy and Diabetes) are very unknowledgeable of their very own specialities. So - in summation, there is fertile ground here for some thought provoking dialog between author (perhaps me) and the reading audience. Sounds like fun.
