Susan Ward - Profile

I run my own business, Heritage Communications. We write, publish, and create web sites about culture, families, and adoption.

Three years ago, I adopted a six-year old from Russia. We're the perfect match! That is not to say it's been easy. Since adopting Hannah, I've become dedicated and passionate about adoption, adoptive families, and adoption issues. As a writer, I've used my experience to create a website about Hannah and me, http://www.hannahandhermama.com. It has expanded to become the definitive website about older child adoption.

In addition to my writing experience, my background is in museums and culture. I consult for musuems across the country, present workshops, and do presentations. I have an MA in museum studies and decorative arts. I've worked as Curator of Biltmore Estate, the Vanderbilt home in Asheville, North Carolina, and did my internship at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

In my non-work life, I enjoy roller blading, biking, and curling up and reading with Hannah!
