Reading and writing are two passions in my life. I am fortunate to be able to pursue both. I graduated cum laude in 1992 from Mansfield University of Pa. with a B.S.Ed.. I am also a Reading Specialist and I have a master's degree in library science and information technology. I have a love for children's literature and as a reading teacher and library media specialist, I hope I inspire my students to love reading and literature and show them the richness of life that reading and literature can offer them, I am currently a library media specialist at a progressive middle school in rural Pennsyvlania. I am also a former English teacher. I have been a children's book reviewer for ten years and have been a contributing reviewer for "Childrens Literature", a large database providing reviews of children's books for educational resource providers and I have also written reviews for "The Shy Librarian" data base and my local newspaper, <em>The Daily </em>Review. I have also been a contributing writer for a local newspaper and have written human interest stories and historical articles about this area of rural Pennsylvania. I am currently working on three books for young readers. I also enjoy freelance editing and tutoring. Personal info: I am married, mother of four. I am passionate about writing,especially children's 'writing and literature. I recently published a biography of British children's author, Phlip Pullman for Enslow author's series. It is titled <em>Phlip Pullman: Master of Fantasy.</em> I collect antiques, children's books and love to read children's literature, historical fiction and biography. |
