Spices

Add a little spice to your life and to your food. In addition to adding flavor to otherwise bland dishes, they also have many aromatherapeutic and health benefits.

Unlike herbs, which are the leafy part of plants, spices refer to the non-leafy parts, such as the root, seed and bark, although sometimes they come from the same plant. For example, coriander leaf is an herb, whereas coriander seeds are a spice.

Here you will find information on a variety of spices and their uses from around the world. Learn the differences between fresh spices and dried, whole spices versus ground and the uses for each.

In addition to general information on using and storing spices, we offer interesting and flavorful recipes highlighting spices and spice combinations.

Comments, questions and suggestions are always welcome.
