Today we’re going to take a look at sWheat’s products to see what we like (and don’t like) about them. We’re also going to tell you the results of our analysis of hundreds of reviews of verified customers to see what kinds of common complaints and compliments they had about the brand.

To finish off this article we’re going to share with you a money-saving tip or two, alongside a list of pros and cons and our overall recommendation.

Let’s get started.

Different Types of sWheat Scoop Cat Litter

sWheat Scoop has only got a handful of products on the market, they’ve chosen to focus on improving quality and performance instead of coming up with new and marketable “gimmicky” products. We’re going to review the 3 most popular sWheat Scoop products below.

sWheat Scoop Multi-Cat Natural Wheat Cat Litter

The first product we’re going to talk about today is also sWheat’s most popular. It’s a clumping litter made from all natural wheat that has been processed into granule form. It’s the latest formula of sWheat’s litter, and it has improved upon what was a little bit of a problem with their original formula – the clumping.

Previous versions clumped sufficiently well, but there was large room for improvement. sWheat Scoop has tweaked this litter to fix the issues and now it’s one of the best wheat based products on the market in terms of clumping. The clumps form quickly, and they dry extremely hard ensuring any smells and bacteria are locked away inside. Breakage during removal of dirty clumps is unlikely (although not unheard of) but remember – it’s still not as good as clay in terms of hardness.

It’s an all natural product that contains no nasty chemicals or artificial bad stuff, yet it has got excellent odor control capabilities and will keep your home smelling fresher for longer. In fact, the clumping action and odor control power of this product is so good – it’s suitable for use in multi-cat households.

It’s a completely natural product made from entirely renewable sources, and it’s biodegradable too. While you can compost this product, most people choose the most convenient option of disposal – flushing it down the toilet.

Warning: Once you’ve started flushing dirty litter down the toilet you’re never going to be able to go back to using the bin – it’s just too convenient.

sWheat Scoop Natural Fast-Clumping Wheat Cat Litter

This product is very similar to the product above, it has just had its formula tweaked slightly to improve the rate of clumping. The granule size is a little bit smaller, which is probably the main way that sWheat Scoop manages to achieve the quicker clumping action. We can’t see any other obvious changes apart from that.

The clumps form quicker, and as such, the amount of time that your cat’s business has to release odors before they get locked up is reduced. The difference is pretty small in our opinion, but it’s noticeable. Due to the slightly smaller granule size, this litter may track a little bit more than the product above – but in all honesty, the difference is going to be negligible too.

It’s pretty decent at odor control and the clumps are about the same size as the Multi-Cat product above. However, the Multi-Cat litter has 2x more odor control, and the clumping action is 2x stronger – as such, this product is only rated for use with a single cat.

On the flip side this litter is a few dollars cheaper, but let’s be real, that isn’t going to really make that much difference in the grand scheme of things.

The other fundamentals of the product stay the same, it’s still an all natural product free of chemicals, and it’s still flushable and biodegradable too.

In all honesty, we can see no real reason why you’d choose this over the product we talked about earlier. It’s only very slightly cheaper, and it’s undoubtedly an inferior litter in terms of odor control and clump strength.

We’re not saying this litter is bad, it’s just that the other product is much better – and it only costs a few dollars more.

sWheat Scoop Premium+ Natural Clumping Wheat Cat Litter

This is the only high-end product that sWheat Scoop produces, and while it’s more expensive – it’s certainly a better product (in some respects).

It has got a similar advanced clumping action and odor control as the first product we mentioned. The clumps are super strong, and they dry hard to lock away smells and make cleaning easy. It’s still flushable and biodegradable and it has got no nasty chemicals in it either.

However, this litter does have one additive that the products above do not – natural plant extracts.

This special blend of herbs and plant extracts have been added to increase the amount of odors that are captured and neutralized by the litter. They’re unscented, so they’re not covering the problem up – instead, they are truly eliminating the smells instead.

Anecdotally it’s a noticeable difference, and people who have tried both the Multi-Cat and the Premium+ say that there’s no doubt in their mind about the additional odor control performance this product has. Litter boxes that would stink when reviewers came home from work would become unnoticeable once they made the switch to this product.

The odor elimination and clumping action are so efficient that they are more than capable of handling the waste of multiple cats, and as such, it’s rated as a multi-cat litter.

However, there is a potential downside to this product that was mentioned in several reviews we came across.

It’s noticeably dustier than the other two products above, which could be a deal breaker for some people. We were a little surprised to learn this considering the price tag, but it’s there in black and white from verified customers. That being said, this doesn’t seem to change their mind on the value of the additional odor control power (despite the additional dust not being ideal) and they usually speak very highly of the product.

Again, we’re going to leave it up to you to decide if the additional cost is worth it. If you’ve got a particularly smelly cat that does some powerful “business”, then it’s certainly worth considering.

sWheat Scoop Cat Litter Coupons

We’ve looked high and low to try and find coupons that are specific to sWheat Scoop products – and we found a couple of potential options. sWheat Scoop has a newsletter that you can join, and through that, they will occasionally provide their readers with coupon codes. However, the discounts aren’t exactly generous.

The best way to save on sWheat Scoop litter (or any litter for that matter) is to find pet supply stores that are running promotions on a wide range of products. For example, Chewy.com are currently running a 30% off deal that works with many different pet products, including sWheat’s litter.

sWheat Scoop Cat Litter Reviews

So now we know what we think about the 3 most popular sWheat Scoop products – but what do paying customers think?

We’ve scoured the internet and read literally hundreds of reviews of their products to try and find some common trends. Here’s what we discovered:

Odor Control – The Multi-Cat and Premium+ products both got exceptional reviews in terms of odor control. The review sections were flooded with comments of praise and stories of how stinky litter trays had become invisible to the owner’s nostrils overnight when they first started using the products. However, the fast clumping litter got less glowing reviews in the smell department – and there was certainly room for improvement.

Flushability – While technically this product is biodegradable, it seems that most people have decided to flush the litter instead of composting it. It’s understandable, the convenience flushing provides is exceptional. Instead of having to deal with smelly litter in a bin you can simply flush it down the toilet and the job is done – we’re sure you’ll appreciate the convenience.

Clumping – Again both the Multi-Cat and Premium+ got excellent reviews in the clumping department. The clumps rarely broke down and they were extremely large and heavy. Several people remarked that occasionally the clumps were so big that they needed to be broken up before flushing – which is quite astonishing! The fast clumping litter got less favorable reviews, despite the name. The clumping action was reported to be a little quicker than the Multi-Cat, but they were weaker clumps overall.

Tracking – All of these litters got reasonably average reviews in terms of tracking. It’s possibly because wheat is quite a light material compared to things like clay, and as this is a granule litter (instead of being pelleted) it’s very easy for it to get caught in the fur of your kitty. That being said, the tracking comments we did notice all pointed out that it wasn’t a deal breaker, and it was no worse than other products made from other materials on the whole.

Note: The exception to this is that long-haired cat owners noted a particular problem. If you own a long haired cat, you may be better off looking at other heavier products.

Dustyness – There was a mixed bag of reviews in terms of dust, so we are unsure how to feel about this section. Some reviewers claimed it was one of the lowest dust products that they’d ever tried, other reviewers claimed it was much dustier than other litters. The Multi-Cat got the best reviews in the dust department, followed by the fast clumping litter. The Premium+ product seems to be the dustiest of them all, but as we mentioned earlier, customers saw it as a small price to pay for the odor control.

Eco-Friendliness – Something we noticed in all the reviews of all of sWheat’s litters was how much people appreciated the option of using a litter that had excellent performance yet was environmentally friendly. By using a natural renewable resource like wheat for your litter you’re cutting down on the amount of our planet’s resources you use and reducing your carbon footprint dramatically. This especially true if you’re transitioning from clay litters which use huge industrial mining operations that are terrible for the planet.

Pro’s And Cons

  • Environmentally friendly completely renewable materials
  • Excellent odor control in most products
  • Clumping action is strong, hard, and won’t break apart
  • The convenience of flushing litter down the toilet
  • Not terrible tracking (but not brilliant either)

  • A little more expensive than some other kinds of litter
  • The quick-clumping litter was not very well received

Is sWheat Scoop Cat Litter Good For Multiple Cats?

sWheat Scoop has two products on the market at the moment that are suitable for multi-cat households. Their superior clumping action combined with their excellent odor control capabilities ensure that they can handle the worst that 2 or more cats can throw at them while still keeping your home smelling fresh and clean.

The products we recommend for this are:

  • sWheat Scoop Multi-Cat Natural Wheat Cat Litter
  • sWheat Scoop Premium+ Natural Clumping Wheat Cat Litter

So there you have it, that’s all there is to know about sWheat Scoop and their excellent litters.

Using all-natural renewable products for your cat’s litter may seem like a little luxury – but every little does help to reduce our impact on the planet.

It’s a little more expensive, but when you take into account the odor control properties and clumping action that customers seem to rave about in reviews – it’s probably worth the additional expense.

If you’re looking for the cheapest litter money can buy – then this isn’t for you.

But if you’ve got the budget for a mid-range litter that has excellent performance, we highly recommend you check out sWheat Scoop and their products.
